Waterloo man injured in Interstate 80 accident

A 58-year-old Waterloo man was injured after his semi-trailer truck struck a guardrail on Interstate 80 on Sunday.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Michael Markey was eastbound on I-80 near the Dubuque Street exit in Iowa City at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday when his truck sideswiped a guard rail barricade, causing the truck to enter a ditch and roll onto its left side.
Markey was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. The report said he was wearing a seat belt.
