A Coralville man is accused of indecent contact with a child and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse after police say he laid next to a child on a couch, touched her inappropriately, and tried to force her to perform oral sex on him.
According to a complaint from the Coralville police department, the alleged victim was sleeping on a couch at a relative's home on Fourth Avenue in Coralville when Hector Mundhank Reyna Jr., 22, laid beside her on the couch and began kissing her neck and ears and touching her breast on July 31. The complaint said Reyna Jr. then tried to put his hands in her pants, but she stopped him by saying "no," and pushing his hands away.
Police said Reyna Jr. then tried to convince the girl to have sex with him, exposing himself, before trying to force her to perform oral sex on him.
Indecent contact with a child and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse are both aggravated misdemeanors, punishable by up to two years in jail and a maximum fine of $6,250.
