Two Iowa City men are accused of possession of a controlled substance after one of them pulled a knife after smoking K2.
According to a complaint from Iowa City police, officers responded to 801 S. Gilbert Ct. #314 after one of the men, Thomas Goldhammer, 22, reported his roommate had smoked some K2 and was "freaking out."
When police arrived on scene, Goldhammer met them at the door to their apartment and told them his roommate, Mitchell Ruden, was inside "freaking out" when Goldhammer ran out of the apartment building, according to reports.
When officers entered the apartment, Ruden, 22, was standing in the kitchen holding a knife and appeared to be frightened, the complaint said. Officers then placed him in handcuffs.
Police said Ruden admitted to purchasing K2 with his roommate that night, and officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia throughout the apartment. Ruden also admitted to smoking K2.
