Man stole woman's phone, uploaded nude photo of her to Facebook, Iowa City police say

A West Liberty man is accused of fourth-degree theft and third-degree harassment after police say he stole a woman's phone while at the Union Bar and uploaded a nude photo of her to her Facebook account.

According to complaints from Iowa City police, 25-year-old Antanacio Frausto was at the Union Bar on January 23, 2011, when he ended up with the woman's Blackberry, either by theft or lost and found. After obtaining the phone, Frausto uploaded a nude photo of the woman, the phone's owner, to her Facebook account, according to reports.

Police said the woman was alarmed, embarrassed, and upset when she discovered the photo had been uploaded.

Complaints said Frausto also sent a text to the woman that said she could get her phone back if she performed sex acts with him. Police said he later threw the phone -- valued at just under $300 -- out of a car in North Liberty.

Third-degree harassment is a simple misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of $625. Fourth-degree theft is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.
