Cheryl is survived by her spouse John (Jack); her children Greg of Cedar Rapids, Dan (Amy) of Palo, and Jeff (Jamie) of Palo; sister Colleen (Bruce) Hotchkiss of Clive; 6 grandchildren Kiyla, Lindsey, Briauna, Molly, Morgan, John; 12 great-grandchildren Cash, Scout, Rowan, Rhett, Reese, Quentin, Blakely, Sawyer, Sutton, Shay, Safiya, and Rose; cousins Pat Arp, Anne Himmeslbach, Jim Bearns, Tom Bearns and Mary Bearns; nephew Richard Hotchkiss; niece Kathrine Hotchkiss Fanter and brother-in-law Jerry Ortmann.
Cheryl was born on May 10, 1944, daughter of Dan and Wahneta Robbins Kiley in Des Moines. She married Jack in Cedar Rapids at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on January 4, 1964.
Cheryl spent much of her life taking care of her husband and three boys. When not spending time with her family she worked in the family business as a Book Binder, taking old antique books and bringing them back to life.
Cheryl loved the farm and her plants and spending time with her husband Jack, traveling to their place in Arizona to get away from the cold Iowa winters. Most of all she loved being a grandma and great-grandma, spending countless hours with grandkids as they grew up. So many special memories at Halloween with her famous popcorn balls and the grandkids making popcorn and cranberry strings to wrap around the Christmas tree.
Recently Cheryl’s ability to communicate was very difficult. She had three very special people in her life that would visit often and would always get her to smile and bring her happiness. Thank you to TingTing, Carol and Teresa for bringing her joy.
A special Thank-you to all Staff at West Ridge Care Center and Suncrest Hospice Services of Cedar Rapids.
