Emmalexia Raelynn Whitford, 11, of Dunkerton and Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, after a nearly yearlong battle with brain cancer. Funeral services: 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Celebrant Dawn Stephens. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
Lexi was born Jan. 22, 2010, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Melissa Moen and Dustin Whitford. She was about to begin her sixth grade year at Dunkerton Community School. Lexi's spunky demeanor and beautiful spirit loved anime, TikTok, snapping her friends and her favorite stuffy, Chungus.
She is survived by her mother, Melissa Moen; her father, Dustin Whitford; brother, Aiden Whitford; grandparents, Brenda Moen and Lonn Whitford; uncles, Daniel Moen Jr., Daniel Whitford and Lonnie Whitford; and a large extended family including five siblings by heart.
Lexi was preceded in death by her grandma, Teresa Kilts; and grandpa, Daniel Moen Sr.
