There were local school board elections on Sept. 11, 2001.
Voter turnout in Linn County was a record low 3.7 percent, 3.12 percent in Cedar Rapids, as people stayed home to watch the news. Dennis Kral won a seventh term for the District 4 seat Richard Bradford was unopposed for an at-large seat.
In Johnson County, 4 percent of voters turned out. David Franker and Matt Goodlaxson won seats on the board.
