An Iowa City man was arrested after police said he injured a man with a golf club for taking his video games.
Police responded to a fight at a neighbor's residence, near where Cartis L. Washington, 32, of 1231 Sandusky Drive, lives. The victim, who police found outside with Washington after 6:44 p.m. Tuesday, told officers he was struck in the legs with a golf club. The victim appeared to have an abrasion on his inner right leg and other marks.
Washington admitted he had struck the man with the club because he believed the victim to have taken two of his PlayStation Portable video games.
Police are charging Washington with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. He posted surety bond at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday, authorities said.
