UPDATE: Body found in Cedar Rapids identified
CEDAR RAPIDS – A body that was found earlier today has been identified as 46-year-old John Margellos of Cedar Rapids, police said.
Police officers, detectives, rescue crews and a priest were on the scene along Matterhorn Dr. NE, near Applewood Court NE. Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the body of an adult male was found around 12:30 p.m.
Hamblin said there were no obvious signs of foul play. She said investigators have reason to believe that it is a man who was reported missing last week, but said nothing has been verified yet.
"Right now, it does not look suspicious," Hamblin said.
Investigators were still on the scene at 1:45 p.m.
