Four departments battling house fire near Walker

CEDAR RAPIDS - Four Linn County fire departments are battling a smoky house fire on a farm just south of Walker.

Crews rushed to 4400 Bauer Lane around 11:15 a.m. when the blaze was reported. A firefighter on the scene said there have been no reported injuries.

Firefighters were seen spraying water into the basement through ground-floor windows, as plumes of gray smoke rose. Tanker trucks were delivering water to the scene.

The farm is located at the end of a dead-end gravel road. Crews from Walker, Center Point, Urbana and Troy Mills were still involved in the firefight at 12:30 p.m.
