Taunt on a touchdown in college football, and become a super-sized goat
Mike Hlas Apr. 15, 2010 3:02 pm
The NCAA's Playing Rules Oversight Panel made some changes on Thursday.
One biggie is that if you taunt on your way to a touchdown, don't bother returning to your team's sideline. Because you might get an icy reception if you do.
From this foxsports.com story:
Beginning in 2011, live-ball penalties will be assessed from the spot of the foul and eliminate the score. Examples include players finishing touchdown runs by high-stepping into the end zone or pointing the ball toward an opponent.
Celebration penalties following a score will continue to be assessed on conversion attempts or the ensuing kickoff.
I can't wait for the first touchdown to be scrubbed because a player lost his mind and had to go into some look-at-me shtick.
Oh, that will be wonderful.
