Gunshots reported in southeast Cedar Rapids
UPDATE: No injuries were reported after at least four gunshots were fired Monday afternoon in southeast Cedar Rapids.
Sgt. Brian Been said the suspect got out of a car around 12:30 p.m. and fired multiple shots in the direction of 1545 Fourth Ave. SE, according to witnesses. The person got back into the car, and it drove away, he said.
Investigators found four shell casings in the middle of Fourth Avenue SE.
Police were searching the area for a vehicle. No arrests had been announced by mid-afternoon Monday.
Several neighbors in the area declined to comment to SourceMedia Group about the incident.
