Herron, Barry E.
Barry E. Herron of Marietta, Ga., passed away March 2, 2010. Barry was born in Chicago in 1933. He grew up in Cedar Rapids, where he attended Franklin High School and graduated from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Barry moved to Georgia in the early 1960s where he began a 50 year career in the commercial lighting industry. He was a football referee with Atlanta Area Football Officials' Association for 35 years.
He leaves behind many cherished friends and business associates. His survivors include two sons, Bryan Herron of Norcross, Ga., and David Herron of Decatur, Ga.; two grandchildren, Grace and Mac of Norcross; and daughter-in-law, Kara of Norcross.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice Atlanta or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The family is having a private service at Georgia National Cemetery.
