Gazette 9/11 commemoration plans

Like other media outlets, The Gazette plans special coverage of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. We have our special 9/11: I Remember site, where people may leave their memories of that day in history.

We also have prepared an 8-page special section for the Sunday, Sept. 11, newspaper.

Heading this project was Annette Schulte, The Gazette's lead content editor. Also involved were web developers Aaron Frerichs and Erin Oppy, newspaper page designer Liv Anderson (the cover she designed is at the right); topical news content manager Zack Kucharski, graphic artist David Miessler-Kubanek and the reporters and photographers of The Gazette.

Also, for this particular project we thank those who have left their memories on the Web site. Their stories are touching, and part of the larger national picture that exists in the attacks' aftermath. Those stories are at the 9/11: I Remember site. I share some of those in my Sunday, Sept. 11, Gazette column, which will be on this blog that morning.
