McClenahan, Rose Marie 'Babe'
Rose Marie “Babe” McClenahan, 86, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Albuquerque, N.M. She is survived by sister, Marjorie Pace of Cedar Rapids; sons, Charles (Marilyn) McClenahan, Wencil (Patricia) McClenahan, Robert, Jr. (Heather) McClenahan; daughter, Mary Ann Jurney; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis McClenahan; parents, Wencil and Mary Machacek; sister, Anna Mae Vanous.
She was a 1942 graduate of Wilson High School and a member of WFLA Lodge 262 in Cedar Rapids. Rose Marie moved to New Mexico in 1948 where she lived in Los Alamos and later relocated to Albuquerque. She had been a longtime volunteer at The Storehouse, providing food and clothing to those struggling with poverty in Albuquerque.
Services were held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at First Christian Church in Albuquerque with interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Storehouse, 106 Broadway Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, (505) 842-6491, in memory of Rose Marie.
