A 33-year-old Coralville man is accused of a controlled substance violation and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after authorities say they found marijuana plants being grown at his residence in August.
Coralville Police Department records indicate that officers served a search warrant at the home of Larry E. Monteiro, 2276 Holiday Road, at 5:45 p.m. on August 26.
During the search officers say they found two small baggies of marijuana and two pots containing six marijuana plants in a furnace closet.
Monteiro allegedly told officers that he had been attempting to grow marijuana at his home for personal use, Coralville Police said.
Johnson County Sheriff's Office records indicate that Monteiro was booked at the Johnson County Jail at 5:01 p.m. Sunday. He was released three hours later after posting bond.
