Kottal, Martha
Martha Kottal, 87, a resident of Keystone Cedars in Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Keystone Cedars. No local services are planned. Inurnment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are her son, Roy Kottal (Julia) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Ann Marie Kottal of Jacksonville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Matthew Kottal of Iowa City and Shelby Kottal of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred on May 12, 2006; and eight siblings.
Martha was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Nichols, Fla. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II. On June 19, 1948, she married Alfred E. Kottal in Baltimore, Md. Martha was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Bartow, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or American Heart Association.
