UPDATE: Two people were hurt in a rollover accident Thursday that sent a car into a corn field near West Union.
Deputies said an eastbound car lost control around 10:30 a.m. on 220th Street, between M Avenue and Neon Road. Firefighters were called to extricate two people from the car, which came to rest on its top.
James M. Lausier, 19, of West Union was identified as the driver. He and a passenger, Lisa L. Lausier, 35, of Hawkeye, suffered injuries that did not appear life-threatening, according to the Fayette County sheriff's office. They were taken to Palmer Lutheran Health Center for treatment.
An investigation was under way to determine why the driver lost control on the gravel road.
