Fricke, Lois (Miller)
Lois (Miller) Fricke, 92, formerly of Iowa City, died March 4, 2010, at The Sequoias in San Francisco, which had been her home since 1993. Her kindness and graciousness will be missed greatly by her friends and the wonderful staff at The Sequoias who cared for her.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.

Lois was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Iowa City, the daughter of Jacob D. Miller and Augusta A. Baumgartner. She graduated from City High School as well as the University of Iowa with honors. Before moving to California, Lois worked briefly for Cargill and Pillsbury in Minnesota. In California, Lois worked for Foremost Foods, which became Foremost-McKesson, and is now McKesson Corp. At McKesson she was one of the first women to hold a management position in the Corporate Human Resources Department.
She will be remembered for her quiet, professional manner by the countless individuals she interviewed, hired and counseled over the span of her career. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in San Francisco.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Fricke; and her parents.
