IOWA CITY - Within minutes of each other, three men charged the field at Kinnick Stadium and were arrested, after the Hawkeyes upset the University of Michigan on Saturday.
Kevin C. DeLuca, Nicolas M. Sorbe and Michael P. Schuchmann were charged with trespassing after accessing the field from various locations in the stands, according to Dave Visin, associate director of public safety with the University of Iowa Police.
DeLuca, 20, of Iowa City, jumped down from the stands directly in front of a police officer at 2:13 p.m., Visin said.
Two minutes later, police said they observed Shuchmann, 38, of Waterloo, who ran onto the filed and then managed to jump behind official coaches who were on camera.
At 2:22 p.m. authorities said Sorbe, 26, of Cedar Falls, also rushed the field without permission. According to the release, Sorbe told police it was a "big win" for the Hawkeyes, and he had charged the field before.
All three have been cited and released same day. Trespassing is a simple misdemeanor.
