Von Roden, Elmer
Elmer Von Roden, 96, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Northbrook Manor Care Center. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, where visitation will be 6 to 8 tonight. Burial: Lowden Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Marge Erickson of Osseo, Wis.; a son, Robert (Terry) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Daniel (Linell) Eaton of Studio City, Calif., Jeremy (Lynn) Eaton of Chanhassen, Minn., Sara Von Roden, Lisa (Corey) Shipman and Bryan Von Roden, all of Cedar Rapids; great-grandchildren, Miles, Nicholas, Alexander and Elaina Eaton of Chanhassen, Madeline, Charles and Grace Eaton of Studio City, Jaxson Shipman and Elliotte Grace Von Roden of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, three sisters and two half brothers.
Born May 29, 1913, in Lowden, Iowa, the son of Henry and Meta (Dryer) Von Roden, he married Erma Usher on Sept. 18, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1986.
