Search continues for Florida man missing in Cedar Rapids

Police continue their search for a Florida man who went missing in Cedar Rapids earlier this month.

Allen Lee Strickland, 35, was last seen at Casey's, 380 33rd Ave. SW, at 5 p.m. Sept. 4, authorities say.

Strickland is 5-foot-8 and around 125 pounds, with blue eyes and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt with a "Wrangler" logo on the front, denim shorts and black Nike tennis shoes.

An Operation Quickfind alert was issued for Strickland Sept. 4.

According to police, Strickland walks with a limp and has visible scars on his legs from surgeries. He is also said to suffer from depression.

According to Lela Julis, the mother of Strickland's 4-year-old daughter, he had only been in Cedar Rapids for three months before he went missing.

"I personally don't believe he's gone on his own free will," Julis said.
