UPDATE: An Iowa City man was identified today as the person hurt in a single-vehicle accident in rural Johnson County Sunday afternoon.
According to Iowa State Patrol reports, Riley J. Henrichson, 20, of Iowa City, was driving along Black Diamond Road and Jasper Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Sunday when his truck entered a ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest on the roadway.
Air Care was put on alert after initial scanner traffic indicated that Henrichson was not conscious and bleeding from the mouth. The call was later canceled after authorities on scene found Henrichson to be alert and responsive.
Henrichson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City by ambulance. His condition is currently unknown.
Johnson County sheriff's deputies on scene said a dog was also in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries. The dog was taken to a veterinarian in Iowa City with what appeared to be a broken foot by a volunteer firefighter from Tiffin.
Henrichson was cited for failure to maintain control, Iowa State Patrol records indicate.
