Lux, Rosemary Andrea
Rosemary Andrea Lux, 83, of Manchester, formerly of Hopkinton, passed away at her residence on Thursday morning, April 15, 2010. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at First United Church in Hopkinton. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory in Manchester. Visitation also will be held one hour before service time on Sunday at the church. Interment: Hopkinton City Cemetery, Hopkinton.
She was born May 29, 1926, in Mishawaka, Ind., the daughter of Byron Fred and Clorice (Nye) Craven. She was raised in the area and was a 1944 Riley High School graduate. On June 15, 1947, Rosemary was united in marriage to William E. Lux at South Bend, Ind. Together they lived in Ames and then moved to Hopkinton, where they were co-owners of Lux Leghorn Land Farms. They retired in 1990 and made their home in Manchester.
Rosemary was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a very creative person and enjoyed knitting, oil painting, working with stained glass, and creating porcelain dolls.
Survivors include her husband, William E. “Bill” Lux of Manchester; her four children, James (Annette) Lux of Clinton, Wash., David (Cynthia) Lux of Yaoundé, Cameroon Africa, Jonathan “Scott” (Patrice) Lux of Louisville, Ky., and Julia (Craig) Thompson of Strawberry Point; 13 grandchildren, Chris Lux, Nathan Lux, Shannon Lux, Christina Lux, Joshua (Trishia) Lux, Anna (Sam) Danforth, Caleb Lux, Ashlyn Lux, Matthew (Claire) Thompson, Jared (Leah) Thompson, Mark (Carrie) Thompson, Jonathan Thompson and Christian Thompson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Darrell, Donald, Jackie and Patrick Craven.
