Do you guys count the opening of spring practice as the first day of the 2014 season?
I do. With that in mind, don't run too far with these two deeps nor with what's said.
It all can change.

Here's Kirk Ferentz's intro, again reaching out to central Iowa with a spring football practice in Des Moines. A question about the new set of LBs. Jordan Lomax as the new starter at free safety. And then a little on the QBs, which wasn't a big topic.
Starts with running backs. Redshirt freshman Sean Welsh will start spring as a starter. An experienced offense. Question on taking OL scholarships and searching for speed. And again, the new LBs.
There is a punting battle. Question about the new Big Ten west division (I'm not sure if we're capitalizing them). Any change in non-conference scheduling philosophy? Question on WR Damond Powell. How much more can he contribute?
Question on RB LeShun Daniels. The tight ends. Big chance for senior RT Andrew Donnal. For the first time in three springs, Iowa's coaching staff is intact. Ferentz said he's good with that for the next decade. Question on safety Nico Law. A little more on WR and a statement on DTs Louis Trinca-Pasat and Carl Davis.

Last but not least, here's Iowa's spring football prospectus (the depth charts are in here, good stuff you'll want to save for reference):
