Another incumbent has joined an increasingly crowded Iowa City school board race.
Tuyet Dorau, of 2010 Wedgewood Pl. in Coralville, said in a news release that the district is facing difficult issues that require candidates to challenge the status quo, think outside the box and make tough decisions that are in the best interest of the entire district.
“We should raise our goal from being the best district in the state to being one of the top districts in the country,” she said. “We must make sure that every child in our district is armed with the power of education.”

She works in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics coordinating multi-site clinical trials.
Dorau and her husband, Marc, have a son who attends West High. She is a West High and UI graduate.
