This is a whole new north end zone in Kinnick Stadium

These are from Gazette photographer Brian Ray, who took some shots of the new scoreboards going up at Kinnick Stadium on Wednesday.
I like the one above because it shows some dudes and gives some scale to JUST HOW DANG BIG the new scoreboarding in the north end zone is going to be.
I don't know about you, but when this $9 million deal was announced, I didn't think Kinnick would change this much. I thought yes on snappier, more HD-like video. I didn't have a picture in my head for the ribbon. This is much bigger than I thought it'd be.

Check out how small the people look.
Here's an angle on the cornering. The gray/steel-ish panels are closer to what the final look will be.
I'm not an acoustics expert by any means, but this will wall up the north end zone a little more. Not that an enthused Kinnick needs any help being loud. (From Michigan 2011.)
So here, you can see the backside of the north scoreboard will look like the press box.
Time is ticking away on this deal, but the progress seems to be where it needs to be. I don't think, however, that the north board is plugged in. At least not yet.
Kickoff is in 40-something days.
Kinnick is changing. The next thing you'll notice is the new children's hospital. I think the UIHC is eight stories. The childrens hospital will be 12. The lighting at Kinnick could potentially change.
For what that's worth to you.
Work continues on the $9 million project to install new video boards and a ribbon display at Kinnick Stadium Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Iowa City. The project includes a large screen video display system within the existing south end zone structure, video displays in the northeast and northwest end zone corners and a ribbon display to be installed above the seating along the north side of Kinnick Stadium.
