A man was injured in a single vehicle accident along Black Diamond Road and Jasper Avenue this afternoon in rural Johnson County.
Air Care was put on alert, but was canceled after authorities arrived to the scene around 4:35 p.m. and found the man to be alert and responsive, Johnson County Sheriff's Department authorities said.
The man, described as being a "young adult" by authorities, was transported to an Iowa City hospital by ambulance.
Johnson County Sheriff's Department authorities said a dog was also in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries. It was taken to a veterinarian in Iowa City with what appeared to be a broken foot by a volunteer firefighter from Tiffin.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. The injured man's name and extent of injury are currently unknown.
