Ruben Lile's shoes said it all Saturday night.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety from Detroit's Cass Tech High School had his cleats customized by an online service. The backs had the No. 12 on each foot with "Future" on the left heel and "Hawkeye" on the right.
Lile picked the Hawkeyes over 11 other scholarship offers, including Purdue, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt.

"My cleats say future Hawkeye," Lile told HawkeyeReport.com Saturday night. "I have a hat to put on too, but if you look at my cleats you will figure it out."
Lile joins Cass Tech teammate Laron Taylor as a commitment in Iowa's 2012 class. Taylor is a 6-0, 205-pound linebacker who had offers from Cincinnati, Indiana and Western Michigan.
The Hawkeyes now have 10 commitments.
Lile has been looked at as a wide receiver or safety. Iowa's depth chart right now says safety, but Lile said Iowa coaches have told him his position is up to him.
"The coaches said I could choose where I want to play when I get there," said Lile, "but I think they have a bigger need in the secondary, so I'm thinking safety right now."
As a junior, Taylor had more than 100 tackles, five sacks and an interception. Iowa plans to keep Taylor at linebacker when he arrives.
"They're going to put about 10 to 15 more pounds on me and play me at will linebacker [weakside], just like I play at Cass Tech," Taylor told Rivals.com.
