Megabus announces expanded bus service from Iowa City to Omaha

New service to begin Aug. 17

City-to-city express bus company Megabus Bus Service has announced that the company will now be offering an Omaha route to-and-from from Iowa City beginning Aug. 17.

Megabus will offer two departures to Omaha from Iowa City on a daily basis. The number of trips between Iowa City, Des Moines and Chicago will also increase to four departures each day.

"The overwhelming popularity of megabus.com inspired us to expand our service reach again and we are pleased to grow farther west, Dale Moser, President and COO of megabus.com said in a press release.

According to the press release, megabus.com is offering 1,000 free seats for trips to-and-from Omaha for travel Aug. 17 through Sept. 17. Customers will need to use the promo code OMA1K when booking their tickets online.

Megabus.com, a subsidiary of Coach USA, launched in April 2006. Megabus.com offers customers environmentally-friendly buses, free Wi-Fi, power outlets and restrooms, a press release said.
