Iowa-Nebraska trophy up

You could see this one coming, couldn't you.

Iowa and Nebraska will play for a trophy.

The details will be revealed at Big Ten media days on Friday morning. The word "hero" gets the dictionary treatment in the e-mail release.

OK, that piques my curiosity.

And I received an e-mail from a gentleman named Gene that makes a lot of sense:

Kinnick went to an Omaha High School

Kinnick went to Iowa.

Kinnick was a hero.

This makes a lot of sense. After three seasons at Adel, Kinnick's family moved to Omaha, where Nile attended Benson High School for his senior year. He earned all-state in football and basketball and helped the baseball team to the city championship. Kinnick is in the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame.

Maybe the Kinnick-Craig Trophy? You remember Roger Craig, running back from Davenport who went on to an all-American career at Nebraska.
