Twisters' Clara Thurm and Sarah Nolting are triple gymnastics winners

Youth notebook: Results from CRAG, Somersaults, Mosers


HIAWATHA — Clara Thurm and Sarah Nolting of Twisters Gymnastics won three events each at the Leapin’ Leprechaun meet, hosted by the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics last weekend.

Thurm won the bars, floor exercise and all around in the Xcel Silver division and Nolting captured the bars, floor and all around in Diamond.

The Twisters’ Bronze, Platinum and Diamond teams all finished first and Silver was second.

Marissa Rahe (bars, all around) and Addison Kellogg (beam, floor) were double winners in Silver, Avery Basquin (vault, beam) won two Gold titles, Amera Ntakuritimana (bars, all around) won twice in Platinum, and Skylar Meyers (vault, bars) captured a pair of Diamond golds.

Others winners were Kayla Gilmore (vault), Eve Hansen (beam) and Annabelle Neal (vault) in Silver, Blair Pladsen (beam) in Platinum and Anna Penning (beam) in Diamond.

Tip three placewinners were Aubrey Sires, Tomina Gerst, Harper Flannagan, Ganesa Papini and Brycelynn Hutchinson in Silver; Ava Tuchel, Cora Spiegelhalter, Audrey Leno, Jasmine Hartney, Elizabeth Schultz and Abigail Green in Gold; and Rebecca Hein, Amelia Berger and Brook Pladsen in Platinum.


BOONE — Twenty-two members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics won titles at a USTA Power Tumbling meet last month that included 22 clubs and more than 400 athletes.

Mosers winners were Annie Gulick, Hannabelle Erickson, Avery Sweeney, Claire Jaeger, Katelin Ante, Brian Kammiller, Claire Hillebrand, Adysen Frieden, Keely Recker, Claire Cahalan, Kennedi Bevans, Kylie Belinsky, Mollie Schaefers, Gracie Hillebrand, Ruby Dolan, Madilyn Payne, Kaia Engelhardt, Avery Fette, Gracyn Fangman, Laura Pierschbacher, Lainey Payne and Adalyn Fette.


Makayla Gasper placed second, along with Reagan Dolan, Gabrielle Guilford, Kadence Pape, Mikya Britton, Madison Butterworth, Allison Torkelson, Karsyn Nichol, Ava Nolan, Miley Walz, Tenley Bormann, Jason Recker, Abigayle Johnson, Lexus Fleming, Hannah Seevell, Kalyssa Reimer, Memphis Peyton and Ella Frieden. Third-place finishers were Carter Phillips, Carley Hillebrand, Kennedy Bulman, Taylor Mullis, Rylee Crubel, Ella Vaughn, Kristina Kammiller, Makenna Payne, Madelyn Bockenstedt, Lilly Shaw, Aaliyah Rosenthal and Cheyenne Varner.


DUBUQUE — Esti Bishop of Somersaults Gymnastics won the bars, floor exercise and all round at the Mississippi River Vacation Classic last weekend in the Xcel Bronze division.

The Cedar Rapids club won team titles in Silver and Gold and placed second in Bronze and Platinum.

Emma York (vault, all around) and Kiersten Swart (beam, floor) were double-winners in Silver and Logan Kalous (vault, all around) won a pair of Gold titles.

Other winners were Bentley Rust (bars) in Bronze, Aubrey Langton (vault), Sophia Sunner (all around), Taylor Brejcha (bars), Carlie Sorg (floor) and Trinity Mitchell (vault) in Silver, Ava Christensen (bars), Grace Prull (beam) and Isabelle Howsare (bars) in Gold, and Bailey Davis (bars) in Platinum.

Placewinners were Carly Cronbaugh, Audra Peterson and Emeri Hill in Bronze; Addison Wilkinson, Annie Haars, Maya Carrizales and Natalie Osterberg in Silver; Sophia Bunch and Baylee Gabrielson in Gold; and Maya Shelangoski and Ashley Lappin in Platinum.

Other CRAG winners were Megan Doyle (bars) in Silver, Brooke Glasbrenner (bars) and Alexis Spence (bars) in Gold, and Kori Lyle (beam) in Platinum.

CRAG placewinners were Amara Isaac, Apolline Pedron, Mya Gilchrist and Adyson Duroe in Silver; Gracie Drury, Maggie Schlamp, Isabel Sherman, Grace Noring and Hannah Behrends in Gold; and Faith Pladsen in Platinum.

Kareena McSweeny won five events (vault, bars, beam, floor and all around) at the Tropical Twist meet last month, and Shea Johnson (beam, floor all around), Sidney Davdison and Jenna Danninger (vault, bars, all around) all won three events. Autumn Poston (beam, floor) and Ava Andrews (bars, floor) were double winners.

Other winners were Jaeden Humphries (bars), Megan Norris (beam), Hailey Hakes (vault) and Kyleigh Garcia (beam), and top three placewinners were Anna Weaver, Lexie Goldsmith, Madilyn Tumilty, Jenna Carney, Natalie Freeman, Carly Mark, Lauren Fruehling and Maya Deuso.
