Capsules on the area teams completing at the state softball tournament this week at the Rogers Sports Complex, Fort Dodge.

ALBURNETT (Class 2A)

Record — 26-12

Ranking — No. 15

Coach — Kevin Johnson (16th year at Alburnett, 475-255; 20th year overall, 531-354)

Tournament history — 9th appearance, first since 2008. 1A champion in 1999 and 2005.

Leading hitters — Kayla Hospodarsky, 8th (.449, 5 home runs, 28 RBIs); Maddie Volesky, soph. (.448, 40 runs); Taylor Huber, soph. (.432, 14 doubles, 39 runs, 35 SB)

CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON (Class 5A)

Tournament history — 21st appearance, second straight. Three championships (1983, 1997 and 1998).
