CHICAGO — Logan Kalous and Grace Prull led the Somersaults Gymnastics team from Cedar Rapids to a runner-up finish in the Gold Division of the Illinois Gymnastics Institute Chicago Style Meet, reportedly the largest women’s artistic meet in the world.
The meet drew 4,200 gymnasts from around the world last weekend at the Navy Pier.
Kalous won the vault and floor exercise in the Senior division and placed second in the all around, third on the balance beam. Prull won the beam and all around and placed third in the bars and floor exercise. Isabelle Howsare won the Senior bars. Ava Christensen and Sophia Bunch were top-three placewinners in the Junior A division of the Gold category and Baylee Gabrielson placed in Senior.
Somersaults’ Audra Peterson won the vault in the Junior A Bronze division and Aubrey Langton (Junior A) and Annie Haars (Junior C) placed in the Silver division. Ashley Lappin placed in the Senior A Platinum field.
22 FROM MOSERS WIN TUMBLING TITLES
IOWA FALLS — Twenty-two members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won titles recently at a USTA Power Tumbling meet that included more than 400 athletes from 20 clubs.
Moser winners were Annie Gulick, Amiya Birkel, Reagan Brown, Sophia Geistkemper, Katelin Ante, Mikya Britton, Memphis Voelker, Brian Kammiller, Madison Butterworth, Adysen Frieden, Keely Recker, Ava Nolan, Kennedi Bevans, Alexa Ries, Maya Pierce, Tucker Erickson, Gracie Hillebrand, Natalie Ries, Kaleah Belinsky, Ava Oberbroeckiling, Vivian Clar and Aaliyah Rosenthal.
Makayla Gasper placed second, along with Kayli Tegeler, Katelyn Mangold, Brooklin Ante, Alivia Sweeney, Hannabelle Erickson, Gabrielle Guilford, Isabella Johnson, Madeline Martin, Alaina Mead, Kylie Belinsky, Mollie Schaefers, Ella Vaighn, Hannah Seevell, Kaia Engelhardt, Julia Kuennen and Brody Ries.
Third-place finishers were Leah Ries, Kennedy Collins, Grace Funke, Carley Hillebrand, Karsyn Nichol, Ava Bilden, Isabella Barrett, Tenley Bormann, Emma Fisher, Destiny Wall, Lexus Fleming, Grace Anton, Kalyssa Reimer, Addyson Sweeney, Georgia Werger and Addilyn Meyer.
SMITH, DAVIDSON WIN TWICE FOR CRAG

MINNEAPOLIS — Riley Smith and Sidney Davidson of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won a pair of events at the Classic Spectular earlier this month.
Both in Level 7, Smith won the vault and all around, Davidson the vault and floor exercise. Hailey Hakes also won a Level 7 vault title.
Jaeden Humphries placed in Level 6, Ava Andrews and Natalie Freeman in Level 7, and Maya Deuso in Level 9.
