4 from CRAG place in regional gymnastics

Youth notebook: Moser athletes shine in Webster City

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Four members of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics optional team placed at the Region 4 Regional Championships earlier this month.

Carly Mark placed in beam, Lauren Fruehling in beam and Jenna Danninger in bars and beam — all in Level 9 — while Kareena McSweeney placed in Level 10.

Danninger has advanced to Western championships and McSweeny, Level 10, has advanced to Nationals Championships.


WEBSTER CITY — Twenty-one members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics won gold in the USTA Power Tumbling meet that included 21 clubs and more than 420 athletes.

Moser winners ere Gertrude Wall, Avery Sweeney, Claire Jaeger, Kadence Pape, Madelyn Schmitz, Kaydence Ahart, Logan Bevans, Adysen Frieden, Keely Recker, Kreighton Peck, Kennedi Bevans, Alaina Mead, Tenley Bormann, Kyle Peck, Ella Oberbreckling, Lexus Fleming, Gracie Hillebrand, Kalyssa Reimer, Kaia Engelhardt, Aaliyah Rosenthal and Laura Pierschbacher.

Carter Phillips placed second along with Meliah Eiben, Hannabelle Erickson, Kennedi McGarvey, Paige Kremer, Gabrielle Guilford, Mikya Britton, Isabel Lutgen, Sophia Geistkemper, Grace Funke, Elizabeth Recker, Ava Nolan, Alexa Ries, Brynn Burlage, Elyse Konrardy, Jason Recker, Tucker Erickson, Maya Pierce, Ella Vaughn, Hannah Seevell, Makenna Payne, Madilyn Payne, Kendall Wagner, Memphis Peyton and Lilly Shaw.

Third-place finishers were Ella Schindler, Gabbi Funke, Carley Hillebrand, Maddesyn Demmer, Claire Hillebrand, Libby Knipper, Madeline Martin, Lilee Boriskey, Macey Krivanek and Ella Krivanek.
