You've probably seen videos of college students making half-court shots for free tuition, cars, pizza, or what have you, punctuated by a riotous on-court celebration.
But this Luther College student pulled off a feat that may separate him from the rest.
Sporting a gecko costume, Luther baseball player Cody Reimer completed the layup, free throw, 3-pointer, half-court shot superfecta to win free textbooks during the Luther-Buena Vista doubleheader on Wednesday.
And good news! Reimer says while being mugged by other animal-suits that he hasn't bought his second-semester textbooks yet.
An important point from the other side of this: The clever strategy from the bookstore that sponsored the contest to pull the kid from the bleachers limited by his wardrobe backfired.
