Landon Cassill gets a NASCAR Monster Energy Cup ride

Cassill will drive Sunday for StarCom Racing

Cedar Rapids native Landon Cassill will return to NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup racing for its next two events.

Cassill will drive in Sunday’s STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway for StarCom Racing, the team announced Monday. He also will race at the April 8 O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Cassill, 28, has 259 career Monster Energy Cup starts.
