3 Cascade Cougars selected to All-River Valley Conference Elite Team

CEDAR RAPIDS — Three players from Class 2A state tournament semifinalist Cascade have been selected for the River Valley Conference’s Elite boys’ basketball team.

Junior Haris Hoffman and seniors Johnny Supple and Brock Simon were selected by league coaches for the Elite team, which has 10 members.

Others on the team include West Branch’s Beau Cornwell, Iowa City Regina’s Jocoa Kerschen and Tipton’s Logan Hoffman. Dev Patel and Cameron Soenksen of Camanche, Luke Empen of Northeast Goose Lake and Cade Daugherty of Bellevue also are on the team.

Jacob Brindle of Cascade was selected Coach of the Year in the North Division. Players selected for the North Division team are Caleb Delzell of Camanche, Gannon O’Brien and Derek Koppes of Cascade, Braden Hoyer, Dawson Stoll and Collin Swanton of Northeast Goose Lake, Alex Nealson and Justin Recker of Monticello, and Ethan Sahr and Mason Minar of North Cedar.

The South Division team is Masen Miller and Evan Brauns of Iowa City Regina, Andrew Stewart and Jacob Tischuk of Tipton, Tanner Lukavsky and Ben Thompson of West Branch, Easton Botkins and Mason Compton of Durant, Seth Feldman of West Liberty and Cale Robertson of Mid-Prairie. Regina’s Jared Galpin was selected division Coach of the Year.
