Iowa City's Lance Cundy top Eastern Iowan at Boston Marathon

Marion's Tyler Husak is third Iowan finisher

BOSTON — Lance Cundy of Iowa City was the top Eastern Iowa finisher in the 2017 Boston Marathon today, finishing the 26.2-mile run in 2 hours, 51 minutes and 40 seconds.

The 26-year-old placed 674th overall, averaging 6:33 per mile.

Marion’s Tyler Husak, 30, was the third Iowa finisher, placing 962nd in a time of 2:55:42.

Jason Thomas of Urbandale was the top Iowan, finishing in 2:31:37, good for 68th overall.

Rochelle Yang of Iowa City was the top Eastern Iowa woman, finishing in 3:33:48.
