UNI volleyball sweeps Louisville in NCAA first round

MINNEAPOLIS — The Northern Iowa volleyball team swept Louisville, 25-21, 25-15, 27-25, Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Maturi Pavilion.

Piper Thomas led UNI (27-8) with a match-high 18 kills. Karlie Taylor had 17 kills and 15 digs.

The Panthers face No. 7 Minnesota (27-5) in the second round at 8 p.m. Saturday.
