Wisconsin shuts out Iowa in Big Ten softball tournament first round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Wisconsin ended the season for Iowa, 3-0, in the first round of the Big Ten tournament Thursday.

Badgers freshman Kaitlyn Menz threw a three-hit shutout. Wisconsin (33-14) advances to a quarterfinal Friday against Ohio State.

Shayla Starkenburg got the loss for Iowa (19-32), allowing six hits.
