GENEVA, Ill. — Sunday is fun day for the Cedar Rapids Kernels. They remained perfect in Sunday games after edging Kane County, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.
Ethan Mildren (2-3) threw six solid innings to get the victory. Alex Muren and Todd Van Steensel finished up, with Van Steensel recording his fifth save.
Jason Kanzler had an RBI triple, in the second inning, then scored what turned out to be the winning run on a Joel Licon sacrifice fly.
Cedar Rapids (28-35) ended a five-game losing streak. The Kernels are 8-0 this season on Sunday.
