Podcast: 'Inside Track' talks old school racing with Jerry Mackey

Longtime track announcer Mackey shares stories from decades of announcing; 'Inside Track' laments all the rain

The Inside Track Podcast returns this week with co-hosts Jeremiah Davis and Danny Lehmkuhl breaking down all things motorsports in Eastern Iowa — on dirt and asphalt.

Inside Track goes down memory lane with longtime Eastern Iowa track announcer Jerry Mackey, who’s spent decades calling races at West Liberty Raceway, Farley Speedway, Dubuque Speedway and Cedar County Raceway (37:44). Davis and Lehmkuhl rehash old Yankee Dirt Track Classics and touch on the upcoming Modified Super Weekend.

Davis and Lehmkuhl also share their favorite racing trips from years of going to races in this week’s Topic of the Week (28:04).

Inside Track also recaps the racing weekend - or lack thereof - and Davis and Lehmkuhl look ahead to this weekend.
