Letters to the Editor

President Trump wrong to praise himself

Our president praises himself endlessly. Among the litany of self congratulations, he gives himself the credit for our low unemployment rate.

But actually, President Donald Trump’s job creation rate falls behind former President Barack Obama’s. The average number of job gains per month in each of the Obama years, 2011-16, exceeded the 171,000 monthly average under Trump in 2017. For those who don’t believe government data and the mainstream news, these data also were reported by FOX News Research.

Obama inherited the Bush near-depression. Trump inherited Obama’s job growth.
