Flood prevention work and street improvements must continue. Functional city streets/infrastructure and strong city management and safety departments support and protect our city. He is committed to those efforts and to expansion of decent, affordable housing. Stable families grow neighborhoods and community vibrancy that attracts new businesses, new jobs, while retaining existing economic base. Our future depends on economic development for a varied workforce.
He assesses need, listens to perspectives, reviews research, and with his team develops and executes action plans. Notably, during 2008 flood recovery, he chaired the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and with the chamber team met with federal officials in Washington, D.C. and state personnel in Des Moines raising awareness of our dire needs and necessary flood defense funds.
His skills rise to the top in leadership. He has earned outstanding volunteer and leadership recognitions from numerous community organizations serving broad needs, from Horizons Family Service Alliance, and Young Parents Network to United Way and the Cedar Rapids Public Library campaign.
Please, join us by voting for Hart as our leader.
