Letter: War in Afghanistan has been costly

October 7 marked the beginning of the 17th year of U.S. war in Afghanistan.

Does this even register in the minds and hearts of U.S. citizens? Why are we there? What have we accomplished? Is Afghanistan better off? Why do U.S. troops come home with PTSD and traumatic brain injury? What better use could the trillions of U.S. taxpayer money have been put to?

Ask your own questions, then please do something.
