Letter: Vote for Rep. Blum in November

I encourage Iowans in the First District to vote for Congressman Rod Blum. When I talk to Blum, I find a good person who doesn’t see himself above the law. I find a person who trusts me to make my own decisions about my life.

Do you want to end illegal immigration? Do you disagree with amnesty? Blum has stood up against President Barack Obama’s illegal amnesty by opposing funding for his unconstitutional executive orders.

Do you believe Iowa’s farmers and small businesses need fewer road blocks to success? Blum fought for Iowa’s farmers against the overreach of the EPA’s burdensome regulations.

Do want to stop the ruling elite class in Washington? Blum is putting through Congressional term limits. He’s ending the Congressional pension plan and putting a lifetime ban on lobbying by former members of Congress. Blum opposed the Iran nuclear agreement and opposed allowing Syrian refugees into our country unless thoroughly vetted. He supports creating safe zones in the region with our allies, until such a time refugees can return to their normal lives in their homeland.

Blum is sponsoring the effort to enact a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution. Blum’s Whistle Blower Protection act passed the House so conscionable people can safely report fraud and abuse in our government.

Do you want a representative who thinks for himself? Blum is not beholden to the Republican party. He does what is right and works to protect the Constitution.
