Letter: Together we can make a difference

Kitty Dirks

A friend is a person with whom one is on terms of mutual affection and respect. Think of your best friends in your past. They were the ones who smiled and they were nice to everyone. We cannot solve all the problems in the world, but we can try to make a difference!

People who commit murder, suicide, bullying or gossip are not happy. They do not respect others or themselves. Our smile and greeting to others may give them hope.

A cure for gossip has been found. The next time someone says, “Did you hear about so-and-so, or do you know so-and-so?” it will probably be gossip.

Look them in the eye and say, “They are a friend of mine! Silence!”
