Letter: Teachers deserve respect from students

It has come to my attention as a student that a lot of students don’t respect their teachers. Many teachers take so much disrespect. I think there is something that needs to be done.

I have done research on why students do not respect teachers. I read that it shouldn’t matter what the teacher did or how your grades are, you still need to respect the teacher on all levels. It is better to be friends with your teacher from what I researched.

To students who are reading this — if you are disrespecting your teacher/principal you need to stop because you need to understand that they are there for you not anyone else, just you. They are there to teach you and gain experience by learning from you.

Not only are you not treating the teacher with respect, you’re making yourself look worse and that affects the way you learn and what job you get.

Treat others the way you want them to treat you.
