Letter: Seek help of U.N. for peaceful resolutions

Let’s all wake up and use our treasure.

Why do the countries of the world start wars to get their way? So many people get killed when they do that.

Instead we should take the problems to the United Nations, which is set up to hear them and get an agreement between them. Its headquarters are in New York, but can be done in other places in the world. Last year, cases were heard in Europe and Africa.

Think of all the lives saved and finances not depleted when this method is tried first.

Let’s help other countries by setting an example and broadcast the work done and the outcome, so all can learn it’s the way to go. What a greater place it would make for all the people on earth.

Please start by attending our local United Nations meetings on the third Thursday of each month (except during summer months) at First Lutheran Church on 10th Street SE. It starts at 7 p.m. in the lower level. Tell us you want to be a peacemaker. We’ll look for you!
